These last few weeks!

Our last two weeks weren't too eventful.  With the rain and our busy schedules, we had few opportunities to go outside for any sunshine.

A couple of Saturdays ago, some friends invited us to go on a picnic with them up in the hills above our town.   The family has 3 boys, one being Morgan's best friend, Mateo and two teenaged boys.

We parked and then walked about 15 minutes to this point.  We then decided to go to the other side of the pond and play the Spanish version of "Hide and Seek" in the rocks.  Can you find Iago across the pond?

This is the spot where we could try to save ourselves by racing in and touching the rock before the person that was "it" touched it after seeing us.   In this picture, Kamree, Kaiya, Lupe and Alberto must be safe or have gotten out.

Here we are resting up after playing a few rounds.

After the picnic, we walked back to the cars, we stayed to shoot off rockets and the other family took off for other plans.   I think Morgan is telling Kamree a monster story here.

It was a full moon and it was beautiful!

Here is a video of Kamree warning Kaiya to beware of the full moon!

The sunset!

This was on our way out.  There are several old rock walls along the drive.  These walls seemed to be abandoned corrals as they formed rectangular shapes.

Concierto Musicalix

The next weekend Kaiya performed in a concert with a group of flutists that she plays with at her music school.  I'm sure she isn't too hard to spot here.

Acrobatics

Here is Morgan in his acrobatics class doing the splits with the hanging fabric.  Not sure what they call them English.

Our First Half Family "Swim Day"(or swim second)

The last Saturday was such a nice day that we spent much of it outside beginning with a family fun run to a couple of our aqueducts followed by a soccer practice at the sports center and then we ended with the ultimate cool off, or at least the loco half of the family did.

This is as they were entering and ....

...this was half a second later as they simultaneously squealed and raced to get out as fast as possible of the ice cold water.

Our day ended with a quick pick up at one of our neighborhood Turkish Doner Kebabs.  Kamree is eating  the super yummy Chicken Kebab.  We have found few restaurants we like and can afford here, besides the Turkish ones.  We did, however; find a Dominoes Pizza last weekend and they had "real" Pepporoni Pizza.  We were in heaven! (I just realized it looks as if Kamree has nothing on but I can assure you she is wearing a swimsuit)

We had just finished watching General Conference when Kaiya spotted a super cute baby lizard on our ceiling.

 Isn't she cute!
