The Beach in Valencia

When we first arrived in Valencia we hit the beach first thing to check it out.  The buildings on the other side of this beach are still Valencia, but when Morgan saw them he said he could see Barcelona.  We corrected him and said  it was Valencia, Barcelona was about 4 hours away. He said," well that is really far away, it would probably take that long to get over there."

The second day of our trip to Valencia we found a more secluded beach just a bit out of town.  I wasn't sure if the water would be warm enough for the kids to get in, but knew they would have fun just playing on the beach and finding seashells.

Kaiya thought the water was plenty warm and didn't hesitate.  I'm not sure she is the best judge since she swam in our pool for hours a few weeks ago when it felt ice cold to me and it was barely 60° outside.

Brent soon followed and then after convincing Morgan that there weren't sharks, he finally joined in.

Morgan was so cold after swimming we warmed him up with a blanket of sand.

We found several seashells and lots of cool rocks.  The ocean is a natural rock polisher and in this case, pottery piece polisher as well.

Just a shot from the pier
We were a little worried about taking our kids to the beach since we know they don't have the same rules about nudity here.  We talked to the kids a little about etiquette in regards to this in order to prepare them.  It turned out that the kids were so focused on the water and looking for rocks & seashells at the beach they didn't even notice what we warned them about.
