Playing in the Pool

This summer is apparently the coldest summer in 200 years here and we have loved it!  It has mostly been in the 60s with a few days in the upper 80s which was just last week.  It hasn´t held the kids back from swimming however.

They convinced Brent and I to join in on Saturday for our first time and it was as cold as ice water.

Nearly everyday after school the kids swim.  Everytime they do Morgan and Kamree get in to swim for about 5 minutes, get out and wrap up in a towel for about 10 minutes to warm up and then get back in for another 5 and then back out again for several rotations, but Kaiya only gets out to just jump right back in again.  She loooooves the water!!!!  Look, I think Morgan´s lips are turning purple.

Love the unity! Our kids have become closer and play together quite well since we have lived here, which we were hoping would happen.  Morgan always allows Mason to play with him and his friends at recess which would have never happened before.

Funny smile, but we had to show our smartest one.  He is the only one that is smart enough to not jump right into the pool no matter how cold of a day it is.  He is patiently waiting for it to warm up before he swims across instead of boating across.

Underwater contest! Any guesses on which fish won?

Morgan, don´t forget to point your toes!

and don´t bend at the waist!

Based on that splash I don´t think this was a 10 point dive, and how did Kamree move over there so fast?

She is one sneaky little thing!  Kamree is not allowed in the backyard alone and never without a lifejacket around the pool, but the other day she snuck out by herself while I was making dinner and swam aross the small end without a life jacket.  She came in all chipper and informed us of her misdead.  I surely thought she meant at least with her noodle She insisted on showing us and sure enough she can doggie paddle across the small end with her face barely out of water, without her noodle.  She was in very big trouble!!!
